Fed: Labor would fund new port road

Opposition Leader KEVIN RUDD says a federal Labor government would provide 95 million
dollars to complete the port access road in Townsville.

Mr RUDD says .. if elected .. Labor would fund half of the 190 million dollar project
.. with the other half to come from the state government.

Industry figures have been calling for the road for some time .. saying export growth
is severely hampered without it.
