NSW:Kyogle residents evacuated

SYDNEY, Dec 28 AAP - Residents of Kyogle in far northern NSW have been evacuated by
the State Emergency Service (SES).

The evacuation order was issued for 35 properties at about 6.45pm (AEDT) on Monday.

An SES statement told residents to activate their personal and flood plans and warned
them not to delay their evacuation.

Residents were warned predicted flood levels of 12 metres could rise further and Kyogle
flats was to be evacuated.

Evacuation centres were established at Kyogle's Memorial Hall where temporary accommodation
and other help was available.

ABC Radio said the SES performed four rescues around Kyogle overnight and another rescue
in Queensland.
