ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is concerned over the slow introduction of Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) technology. It accuses Telstra of a "go-slow" on the introduction of the technology that would open up broadband Internet services to a much wider range of competitors than the present four. Telstra must share its phone lines into homes and business premises on an equal basis when the technology is introduced. A spokesman for Telstra dismissed claims of a slow introduction of the technology, saying the company is on target with its plans to introduce it in July 2002.
